Our Teams

Iron Crab Barbell Powerlifting Team

Our powerlifting team competes in USA Powerlifting, the largest drug-free powerlifting association in the United States.  Currently, all of our lifters compete only raw, which means they can wear an IPF approved belt, knee sleeves, and wrist wraps when performing the judged competition lifts of squat, bench, and deadlift.  Our club registration number is: MD-2019-03.  Powerlifting meets are conducted in kilograms (kg), and one kilogram is 2.2lbs.  

Our powerlifting team roster only consists of people who train at our physical gym or have done remote training with us for a minimum of 6 months.  Our coaches are available for travel & handling these lifters at all meets.

Our team members currently hold 16 different state records for squat, bench, deadlift, or total as of 08.01.19.

Head Coach: Lonnie Fariss (63kg, 72kg)

Lonnie is a current USAPL Maryland State Record Holder in 63kg weight classes, and former 7x Maryland State Record Holder in both the 63kg and 72kg weight classes.  She has coached multiple former and current Maryland & Virginia State Record Holders.  She has also coached and qualified multiple lifters to USAPL Raw Nationals, USAPL American Open, and USAPL Regionals.

She was also the 2015 American Open Gold Medalist in the Masters 1 72kg class, 2016 63kg Maryland State Masters Champion, and she finished 5th at 2016 Raw Nationals in the Masters 1 63kg class.

Shelly is the 47kg M2 Maryland State Record holder for squat, bench, deadlift, and total.  Shelly is also a 2018 Raw Nationals qualifier.

Terri is the 63kg M2 Virginia State Record holder for squat, bench, and total.  She finished 7th in the 63kf M3 category at 2019 Raw Nationals.

Amy Robinson (63kg)

Amy is the 63kg M1 Maryland State Record holder for bench.  Amy was 6th in the 63kf M1 category at 2019 Raw Nationals.

Tangie Gardner (63kg, 72kg)

Tangie was the 3rd place 72kg M1 at 2019 Raw Nationals and was the 4th Place 63kg M1 at 2017 USAPL Raw Nationals.  She is also 2017 63kg Maryland State Masters Champion as well as 63kg Masters 1 Maryland state record holder in squat, deadlift, and total. She is also the 2018 72kg Virginia State Champion & Masters Champion, 2019 72kg Maryland State Champion & Masters Champion, 72kg Maryland State Record holder for bench and total; as well as a 2017-19 Raw Nationals qualifier.

Iron Crab Barbell Weightlifting Team

Our weightlifting team competes in USA Weightlifting, the largest drug-tested weightlifting association in the United States.  This team performs the judged competition lifts of the snatch and the clean & jerk.  These are also known as the olympic lifts, and these are the ONLY barbell sport in the actual Olympics.  Our club number is: 9044. Weightlifting meets are conducted in kilograms (kg), and one kilogram is 2.2lbs.

He was 6th at 2016 Masters Nationals Weightlifting Championships 35-39kg 94kg class and Bronze medalist at 2016 American Masters Weightlifting Championships in the 35-39 94kg class.
